Media Programme Sub-Sahara Africa of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung

The “Media Programme Sub-Sahara Africa” was established in to promote a free, responsible and ethical press in the region. With its trainings and conferences, the programme strengthens the dialogue amongst leading editors and journalists. The programme is based in Johannesburg and oversees projects in the whole region.

IJW

The Investigative Journalism Workshop (IJW) was established in 2005 as part of the Journalism Programme of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. The IJW collaborates with several international Partners, to support investigative Journalism in South Africa’s young democracy and to establish professional standards. The IJW awards the Taco Kuiper Journalism Award and organizes the annual Power Reporting Conference.

FAIR (involved in the production of the first eight chapters)

The Forum for African Investigative Reporters (FAIR) is an association of investigativejournalists in Africa. The Forum was established in 2003 by 15 journalists from six African countries. FAIR provides networks and contacts for journalists, supports cross-border partnerships in research and facilitates investigations through ithe exchange of information.

The Centre for Investigative Journalism (CIJ) is a registered charity that trains Journalists as well as providing information for the public to give them an understanding of the importance of investigative journalism. The Centre runs annual international summer schools.
